Meg Gatewood, M.Ed., LPC Candidate

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) candidate, I bring over 10 years of experience in education, including three years as a school counselor. My background as a teacher, coach, and counselor gives me a strong understanding of teens, young adults, and families, and the real-life challenges they navigate every day.

My approach is relational, warm, and grounded. I focus on building genuine connection while also creating space for reflection and depth. Sessions are supportive and collaborative, with room for honesty, insight, and even moments of lightness when they’re needed. I value open communication and help clients feel comfortable being themselves while also challenging them in ways that lead to meaningful growth.

I am especially experienced in working with adolescents, young adults, and parents, including helping families improve communication and better understand one another. Creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and able to do real, meaningful work is at the core of how I practice.

Outside of my work, I value connection, meaningful conversation, and time to recharge—whether that’s spending time with people I care about, getting lost in a good book or movie, or enjoying a quiet, cozy night at home. I also appreciate the role that humor and shared cultural moments can play in helping people feel more at ease and understood.

I believe lasting change happens when people feel supported enough to be honest and understood enough to grow.
